The goals for the Airport’s program reflect those identified in the 2020 RIC Strategic Plan, a copy of will be made available upon request, and have been incorporated and updated as appropriate, as well as the desire of the Capital Region Airport Commission to provide quality concessions for its customers, which include travelers as well as employees who work at the Airport. The beacon to guide the program is RIC’s VISION: Moving People, Business, & Commerce to Advance the Richmond Region along with its MISSION: RIC seeks to provide All Customers with an Exceptional Experience through Convenience, Innovation and Excellence The GOALS considered are as follows: 1. Provide the Best Customer Experience of any airport in the region. 2. Optimize Efficiencies. 3. Reduce Costs through Technology & Innovation. 4. Be an Employer of Choice to attract and retain Valued Employees. 5. Elevate the Richmond Region by becoming a Go-To Partner with other organizations in the region on economic development initiatives in the community and on Airport Property. Additional Program Goals include: • Travelers should feel they are in Richmond through creative and unique concession offerings, services, and concept designs. • Balance local/regional concepts and national name brands, with an emphasis on local/regional. • Provide a cohesive plan for optimally utilizing the Airport’s existing facilities with these additional locations on Concourse A & B. • Create an environment that promotes local and ACDBE concession businesses to flourish. • Consider the impact of any on-going and/or new security requirements on concessions. • Consider concessions in a post-pandemic environment and its impact on how goods & services are delivered and consumed.
