The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT”) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide equipment with experienced drivers/operators to assist VDOT during emergency Snow and Ice Control Operations and on heavy traveled Holidays and other heavy traffic days to remove vehicles that are impeding the flow of traffic on an "as needed" basis. In the event of an Interstate blockage, assistance may be requested to help keep the detour route open. Equipment will be assigned to establish Lots on Interstate 81, 581/220 expressway,460 bypass in Botetourt, Roanoke, Pulaski and Montgomery Counties and Interstate 77 in Carroll County. VDOT may make multiple (Primary; Secondary) awards in each Lots.
