The Contractor shall be able to furnish, to the Department, light, medium, heavy and/or as listed below, for each lot bid, with experienced operators. The equipment shall be capable of assisting and/or moving Class 1Light Duty (6,000lbs or less GVW-4 tires) through Class 8 Heavy Duty (33,001lbs or less GVW- 10 tires or more) vehicles from the travel lanes. Vehicles shall be relocated off of the travel portion of the roadway in a safe location. In most cases, vehicles will not be towed to a storage location. Under extreme circumstances, when multiple vehicles require towing, VDOT will designate a location to tow disabled vehicles. Equipment requested to report shall be solely dedicated to VDOT from the time VDOT requests the equipment to be in place until equipment is released by VDOT. While performing duties under this Contract, the Contractor shall not perform or offer to perform any operations at the direction of any private individuals, firms, or corporations, using equipment being utilized under this contract. The additional cost of moving a vehicle beyond the VDOT-approved location is not allowed and will not be paid by VDOT. Staging location and start time will be provided when contacted by the VDOT representative.
