a. Removal and clearing of snow and ice (e.g., plowing, shoveling, etc.) the driveways, roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and any other walkway areas of the contracted locations. i. The successful Contractor shall place snow in areas that will prevent melted water from draining back onto cleared surfaces. ii. The successful Contractor shall not place snow in parking lots and sidewalk areas that will melt and become a potential freezing hazard. iii. In rare cases of excessive amounts of snow, the snow shall be removed from the parking areas as deemed necessary by and in coordination with the County’s General Properties staff. b. De-icing (i.e., application of salt, sand, or other de-icing agent) of the driveways, roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and any other walkway areas of the of the contracted locations. i. The successful Contractor shall provide walkway clearing and de-icing to establish a safe walking area for staff and the public. ii. De-icing agents must be environmentally friendly and approved for use on concrete and asphalt surfaces.
