A. Service calls may be required at any time of the day or night, holidays included. The Contractor’s equipment and personnel shall be available on a twenty-four (24) hour on-call basis and shall respond within four (4) hours of contact by the County. The Contractor shall provide the name, telephone number and e-mail address of a primary contact person. The County will initiate contact if services are required and provide assignments to the Contractor. Communications between the Contractor and the County must be always available by phone. The Contractor shall continue until services are no longer needed. B. The Contractor agrees that he and his employees shall observe and exercise caution and discretion necessary to avoid injury to persons or damage to property. Personnel pushing snow/ice shall avoid straying off their designated clearing areas onto lawns, plant beds, etc. When pushing or piling snow, avoid areas such as fences, shrubbery, trees, posts, etc. that are subject to damage. The Contractor is expected to exercise care to ensure that storm drainage inlets, manhole rings, water service valve boxes, junction boxes, and other similar items normally found in streets (covers, curbs, gutters, etc.) and roadways are not damaged by plowing operations. C. The County reserves the right to inspect work in progress as well as make final inspection to approve completed work. The County retains the right to suspend the operation of any equipment that is not efficient and in safe operating condition. The County retains the right to suspend any operator if deemed incompetent or unproductive. The Contractor shall replace the operator and/or the equipment within one (1) hour of suspension.
