The City requires the services of a qualified Contractor to provide a comprehensive metal recycling program for the Newport News Police Department's (NNPD) firing range spent brass ammunition casings. The program/process shall be compliant with all federal, state and local regulations related to recycling of spent ammunition. Minimum requirements under the contract to be established from this solicitation are as detailed below. A. The Contractor shall provide containers for storage at the beginning of the contract. B. The Contractor shall pick up the spent casings after a call for service. C. The Contractor shall deliver additional containers to replace those picked up. D. The Contractor shall propose the type of container based on the City's estimated annual output of 3,000 to 4,000 pounds. E. The containers shall be stored outside in the elements. F. Contractors shall be required to comply with all applicable requirements for Base entry.
