Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. GROUNDS MAINTENANCE: The intent of this service is to maintain the grounds in a comprehensive, proactive, and orderly manner that results in a high level of quality and safety for Virginia ABC and its customers. The Contractor shall ensure that the site is properly managed at Virginia ABC Store 201. 1. Required Services i. Contractor shall edge and trim all curbs, sidewalks, and mulch beds. Edging and trimming shall be maintained so there is no encroachment of vegetation for more than two (2) inches onto any curbs, sidewalks, or mulch beds to ensure a neat appearance. ii. The contractor shall weed on an as needed basis. Hand weeding will be limited to tall weeds only, where the application of herbicide is not possible. Weed Spraying shall be carried out as and when required so as to maintain the shrub bed or perimeter of building as weed free as is reasonably practical. This shall be undertaken by means of knapsack sprayer using an approved herbicide only. The use of other herbicides in communal areas must be authorized by ABC Store Manager for that area because of the risks involved to the public who access those areas. Weed growth on the shrub bed area shall always be majorly weed free and always be clear of litter, leaves and rubbish. B. SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL: The intent of this service is to combat adverse weather conditions in a comprehensive, proactive, and orderly manner that results in a high level of quality and safety for Virginia ABC and its customers. The Contractor shall ensure that snow and/or ice are removed from Virginia ABC Store 201, prior to the location’s opening, seven (7) days a week. 1. Snow and ice removal shall be in accordance with Industry Standards for Snow and Ice Management Services. 2. In most situations, the Contractor shall immediately proceed with snow removal without approval from Virginia ABC when the accumulation of snow is at least three (3) inches deep, or if a Virginia ABC Store Manager or designee requests before three (3) inches of snow has accumulated and if additional accumulation is anticipated. Timing of the clearing shall be coordinated for employees to arrive at the location by 8:00 AM (EST), and leave as needed. 3. If the accumulation is less than three (3) inches, the Virginia ABC Store Manager or designee shall determine the necessity for snow removal and notify the Contractor if services are required. Contractor must be available and respond immediately upon notification from the Virginia ABC Store Manager or designee and Contractor must respond to requests to perform snow/ice removal and/or apply appropriate de-icing/ice melt agent application within two (2) hours of contact.
