1. SCOPE OF WORK The Town of Farmville, seeks a contractor to mill any existing pavement, as needed (determination of need for milling will be made by the Town of Farmville), overlay pavement, and any other requirements on "A" Street, Blanton Street, Bolt Street, Brook Street, Cedar Avenue, Evergreen Lane, Gum Street, Haynes Street, Hylawn Avenue, Noblin Street, North Bridge Street, North South Street, North Vaughan Street, North Virginia Street, Orchard Street, Park Avenue, Pine Ridge Lane, Poplar Street, Richardson Street, Roberts Street, Second Street, Serpell Street, South Bridge Street (to Church Street), South Virginia Street (East Third Street to end), Timberline Drive, Ward Street, Woodland Trail and Woodrow Avenue. The asphalt used for the overlay pavement of the streets shall be the SM 9.5A mix and the overlay will be 1.5 inches. All work must be in accordance with VDOT standards. The contractor will be responsible for transporting and disposing of any milled pavement or other waste from the work being performed. The contractor will work to keep traffic flowing and close lanes for the need to meet safety requirements while keeping the flow of traffic as best as possible. When working on Town streets or within the street right-of-ways, the contractor will follow all VDOT work zone safety practices. When Town residents or businesses are to be affected by paving operations, the contractor will be responsible for timely notification. Any street or sidewalk closure must be preapproved by the Town Manager or his designee.
