The security units will be comprised of personnel from a private security company. Unit one will report to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office and will be located at the Hall of Justice, Jail, and the Juvenile Justice Building. Unit two will be monitored by the Risk Management office and will provide services to all other county locations. As the primary responsibilities and duties of the working site supervisor and guards relate to the safety and security of the county buildings, it is expected that all contract personnel will be alert and sensitive to the medical, emotional, and psychological state of visitors, their co-workers and county/city employees. Contract employees should be willing and able, within policies and guidelines, to provide humanitarian assistance when needed for the safety and security of all individuals on the county facilities. The coverage for the courts will generally be Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM. The Hall of Justice, Juvenile Justice Center and Jail Buildings are closed on weekends and on legal County holidays. For the other buildings that are monitored by the second unit, the coverage will generally be Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Administration, Annex and Health & Human Services Buildings are closed on weekends and on legal County holidays. The Museum historical building is open for business on Tuesday through Saturday. The County shall not be responsible for any overtime charges associated with providing security services during any of the established working hours or legal County holidays. Upon prior notification and mutual written agreement, the County may request presence at additional meetings, buildings, events, or during times of unusually high foot traffic.
