The Contractor will locate plots on the ground using material provided such as maps, orthophotos, and point layers on a GPS system. Reference points and plot centers will be captured with GPS if plots are moved, otherwise the provided locations should be used. Plots will be located on a systematic grid and will be evenly distributed throughout the stand to provide representative coverage of all the conditions with the stand boundary. b. Plots shall be located at least 0.5 chains from the stand boundary and developed roads to minimize chance of picking up trees outside of the stand on the variable plot sweep. No plots shall be taken on developed roads that are shown on the maps provided. However, plots should be established according to the chosen grid through all other roads, skid trails, landings and nonforested openings within the stand. Ignore these features and do the plot even when it is zero trees.
