The Maryland Department of Health (MDH or the Department), Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) to provide investment in the hardware, software, and training needed to use Electronic Health Records (EHRs). MDH-BHA has established an Interoperability Program for Behavioral Health Providers. This program will: ● Adopt, implement, and/or upgrade/optimize EHR systems for Behavioral Health providers; ● Provide initial and ongoing user education services to Behavioral Health providers; and ● Onboard and connect to CRISP, Maryland’s Health Information Exchange. Eligibility Criteria: ● A Medicaid provider organization that has adjudicated claims within FY21-FY23 to provide services either through contract or fee-for-service ● Licensed under COMAR 10.21 and/or 10.63 as a substance use, mental health, or integrated behavioral health program. There are three program tracks depending on the needs of the Applicant. All tracks include connecting with the State designated Health Information Exchange (HIE) known as the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP) to enable providers’ ability to send encounter data and clinical notes. ● Program Track 1: Adopt & Implement a New EHR ● Program Track 2: Implement & Upgrade an Existing EHR ● Program Track 3: Upgrade/Optimize an Existing EHR
