Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Preferred crop trees will be prioritized as follows; ponderosa pine, western larch, Douglas-fie, lodgepole pine, and Engelmann spruce free of defect with at least a 40% crown ratio meeting the desired average spacing criteria. 2. Do not cut trees larger than 8 inches DBH. 3. Cut all regeneration within dripline of overstory trees. 4. Fell all crop trees less than 8 inches DBH with a Hawksworth mistletoe rating of 2 or greater. If an entire contiguous patch is infected, leave the healthiest and least diseased crop trees at a spacing of 17ft X 17ft. 5. Maximum stump height shall be 4 inches cut flush (horizontal) with no hinging or live limbs acceptable. 6. Minimum live tree cutting height will be 2ft. 7. All snags will be retained unless they are deemed an occupational hazard (do not use them as a consideration for spacing). 8. Do not cut any hardwoods and do not use them as a consideration for spacing. 9. A cut and scatter method will be used for ponderosa pine slash treatment in this unit. All cut ponderosa pine shall be cut to a maximum length of 4 foot and scattered.
