Specifications include, but are not limited to: WSDOT is seeking quotes for Winter Sand Material; . To ensure quality of material after delivery, WSDOT may take random samples of the material. WSDOT will not pay for material that does not meet the specifications provided for in this solicitation. If any bidder has failed WSDOT random sampling tests in prior contracts, WSDOT reserves the right to reject the bidder’s bid. . The sand is used in WSDOT trucks equipped with hydraulically operated augers, chain flights, and spinners. Contaminants exceeding the material requirement specified above shall be justifiable cause for rejection of the material at the sole discretion of WSDOT. If contaminants are discovered in the material already delivered to the WSDOT ICPs, the material shall be removed by and at the expense of the vendor. . Material must be made available for pick-up or delivery within 7 business days after receipt of a signed purchase order from WSDOT. Material shall be made available for inspection by WSDOT within that 7 business day period. A representative from WSDOT will inspect and sample material prior to pick up or delivery. Material may not be accepted until the vendor has been advised in writing by WSDOT that the material meets specification. Delivery may be refused without prior written acceptance by WSDOT.
