The City of Kenosha, Wisconsin is using FTA Grant and city funds to seek bids on behalf of Kenosha Area Transit for the contractor to remove the existing elevator, manufacture, deliver and install a commercial elevator at the Metra Station. The primary purpose of the commercial elevator is to carry train patrons to the first level and that includes wheelchairs and assisted mobility devices. The minimum weight capacity will be 2500 pounds as described in plans and specifications. The commercial elevator must be engineered to operate in local weather conditions, including snow/rain/freezing rain and other harsh conditions. The elevator would be subject to all applicable USDOT, FTA and Wisconsin Department of Transportation third-party procurement requirements, terms, conditions and certifications as set forth in the bid documents
