The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Buffalo Field Office (BFO) is seeking a qualified contractor to conduct a geophysical investigation to identify buried cultural resources at the Welch Ranch Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA). The project consists of a base work period in calendar year 2024, with option periods in 2025 and 2026, and optional additional tasks, based on the results of the base period work findings and availability of funds. Future work at the Welch Ranch SRMA includes rehabilitation and stabilization of the Tongue River, which will require significant disturbance in the river terrace at locations where buried cultural materials are thought to exist.
