Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City desires a proposal to design, construct and install a new refrigeration system to cool our existing ice rink floor at the Family Recreation Center. This project will include the replacement of the existing Holmsten chiller and associated components that comprise the refrigeration system. The new system will continue to circulate a glycol solution media for heat transfer and will operate on a refrigerant such as R-513A. Removal and disposal of the existing R-22 refrigerant will be conducted by the City prior to the demolition phase. Glycol circulation pump, sizing and capacity will need to be evaluated. The new system will mate to the existing piping within the arena floor. The new system should be responsive and have the ability to reach production temperatures of 5 degrees (F). A water-assisted tower is acceptable for heat rejection, providing the consideration of cold weather operation as to reduce ice buildup and freeze issues. Heat recovery to supply the sub-floor heating will be integrated into the new plant. The new equipment will be housed in the same location as the existing equipment. This will be a ‘turn-key’ project from equipment design, removal of existing equipment, manufacture/ procurement and delivery of replacement equipment, installation, initial operation & testing, commissioning & operational staff training for the system you propose to provide. A preliminary on-site walk-thru and survey of the Family Recreation Center’s existing system is required to be considered for this project. An annual Service Agreement for a period of 5 years after the commissioning is strongly being considered and should be part of your proposal. The city is requesting two copies of the operation manuals and a clarified written warranty to satisfy substantial completion. The successful company must be willing to provide all the necessary tools, supplies & labor force to complete the installation, initial operation and support of the new equipment. Regional service & support is desired.
