Teton County Public Works is responsible for permitting Small Wastewater Facilities (SWF), commonly referred to as septic systems, as the delegated authority from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Through the delegation agreement, only systems receiving under 2000 gallons per day fall under the purview of the County. In recent years, Teton County has processed approximately 100-150 permits annually for new, repaired or replaced septic systems. Teton County recently adopted the Water Quality Management Plan which included recommendations for improving small wastewater system permitting and maintenance requirements. Teton County is interested in procuring a software management solution platform to assist with the management of local septic system permitting, installation inspection, and GIS mapping of spatial and metadata, along with owner maintenance tracking of septic systems of record, with the overarching intent of improving septic system performance to reduce potential impacts to water quality, as well as permitting process efficiency.
