Description

Scope of Work:

Work encompasses the installation of Luxury Vinyl Tile or Luxury Vinyl Plank in (66) sleeping quarters, (21) Resident Assistant rooms, (1) lounge area, (3) handicap accessible rooms, (7) bathrooms, (2) Office areas, (3) Storage areas, (1) sewing room, (1) classroom, (1) 1st floor janitor closet. The contractor shall furnish complete flooring services for these described areas for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, including all reasonable and necessary labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and supplies in order to complete the project. Installation must be phased sequentially per floor so as to not disrupt USSRC Space Camp schedules.
Flooring – color and type of flooring shall be consistent with currently installed Luxury Vinyl Tile / Luxury Vinyl Plank. The flooring shall be Textured Stone Color: Medium Concrete Luxury Vinyl Tile / Luxury Vinyl Plank.
Flooring for the (66) guest rooms (apx228sqft per), (21) RA rooms (apx130sqft per), (2) large storage rooms (apx300sqft per), (2 small storage rooms (apx200sqft per), (3) handicap accessible rooms (apx138sqft per), (1) classroom (apx 500sqft), (1) sewing room (apx400sqft), (2) offices (apx 260sqft per), (1) first floor janitor closet (apx 70sqft) (1) lounge 550sqft)
Flooring for (6) bathrooms will match the hallway Luxury Vinyl Plank. (Brushed Lines Color: Rouge, Brushed Lines Color: Eucalyptus, Interface Brushed Lines Color: Deep Cobalt, Interface Brushed Lines Color: Teal Oxide)
Flooring for the 1st floor bathroom adjacent to a storage area will be Textured Stone Color: Medium Concrete Luxury Vinyl Tile.
Two boxes of medium gray LVT, and one box of each color LVP shall be included in bid as stock.
4” Black cove base will be needed in designated areas.

Floor Preparation:

Areas to be floored shall be prepared in accordance with the flooring Mfg. recommendations.
All surfaces shall be cleaned, prior to installation of flooring products.
Areas of work adjacent to other areas that remain in operation shall be screened off from foot traffic, guests, and campers.
Appropriate signage should be posted informing guests and employees of the work that is being performed.
Work scheduling must be done in consultation with the camp schedule to minimize disruption of camp activities.
Sewing room furniture, sewing tables, chairs, and cabinets will need to be moved in order to perform work, and replaced when finished. The movement of sewing room furniture shall be included in the work to be performed.

Cleanup:

All material shall be removed from the workplace at the conclusion of a project.
At the conclusion of a project the area shall be entirely free from materials, dirt, and dust.
All discarded material shall be disposed of properly at the expense of the contractor.

Sealed proposals will be received by the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission d/b/a U.S. Space and Rocket Center at the office of Sam Mitchell, Director of Procurement, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, at the ETF Building Room #109, One Tranquility Base, Huntsville, Al 35805 until Thursday 07/06/23 at 2:00pm CST. At which time and place, each seal bid will be publicly opened and read into the record.

Bids must be submitted on DCM C-3 Bid Proposal forms. Additional documentation includes DCM C-4 Bid Bond, C-3A Acct Sales Tax, Certificate of Insurance, E-Verify, Al Vendor Disclosure statement, Alabama GC License, and company W9 form. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Owner. The bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
