Description

This project includes, but is not limited to, removal of the existing traffic signal; installation of a new traffic signal with eight (8) phase operation; installation of new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps; removal of existing signs, striping, and pavement markings; installation of new striping, pavement markings, green bike lanes, and signage to add left-turn pockets on Latham Street; modifications to the storm drain to accommodate one of the new ramps; and doing other incidental work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and as described in the Contract Documents and Specifications.

All work shall be done in accordance with the latest City of Mountain View Standard Provisions, the latest edition of the 2018 State of California Standard Plans and Specifications for Construction of Local Streets and Roads, and these project plans and specifications. The estimated cost of this work, including contingency, is between $900,000 and $1,000,000.

This project is partly (or wholly) funded by the Santa Clara County 2010 Measure B, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's (VTA's) Local Road Improvement and Repair Program.

Sealed bid proposals for the construction of the project will be received by the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of the City of Mountain View at City Hall, 500 Castro Street, First Floor, Mountain View, California, until 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at which time, bids will be publicly opened and read inside the City Hall Rotunda.

Bidders are to be licensed in accordance with the provisions of the “Contractors License Law,” Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the State Business and Professions Code. In addition, at the time of submitting the bid, bidder must have one of the following classification(s) of contractor’s license from the State of California: Class A, General Engineering Contractor License or Class C-10, Electrical Contractor License

All proposals or bids must be sealed and addressed to the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of Mountain View and the envelope must be plainly endorsed as follows:
