Hawthorns Interim Structure Stabilization and Debris Removal
The project implements interim structure stabilization measures at the Hawthorns Historic Complex. The scope of work includes: installing shoring for foundations and other structural supports, performing selective removal of deteriorating stairs and additions to the structure to mitigate hazards, and removing collapsed structure debris.

March 11, 2025 - Request for Bids issued
March 19, 2025 - Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting, 10:00am. RSVP is Mandatory and must be completed by 11:00 am on March 18, 2025.
March 26, 2025 - Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting, 2:00 pm. RSVP is Mandatory and must be completed by 11:00 am on March 25, 2025.
March 27, 2025 Noon – Deadline for Bidders to pose questions.
March 28, 2025 5:00pm – Final Addendum to Bid Package issued
April 3, 2025 - Bid Opening, 11:00 am. 5050 El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA, 94022
May 14, 2025 - Award of Contract by District Board of Directors Regular Meeting
May 14, 2025 - Written Notice of Award of Contract
June 11, 2025 - Pre-Construction Meeting and deadline to submit Labor and Materials Payment Bond, Performance Bond, Proof of Insurance, and signed Agreement
June 18, 2025 - Written Notice to Proceed issued by District
September 1,2025 - Work on site complete
September 8, 2025 - Project Close Out & Completion
There are two mandatory pre-bid meeting(s) and site visits. ALL BIDDERS MUST ATTEND at least one site visit. The site visits are scheduled for 10:00 am on March 19, 2025 and 2:00 pm on March 26, 2025. Mandatory Reservation Required: RSVP to Lu Spigelman at lspigelman@openspace.org by 11:00 a.m. the day prior to receive directions to the meeting location and notice of any weather delays or changes. Any Bid Proposal not delivered before the time set for the opening of bids will be returned unopened. Incomplete Bid Proposals may result in bid rejection, in District’s sole discretion.
The Bid Proposal must be delivered by April 3, 2025 at 11am to the following address, in a sealed envelope marked “Hawthorns Interim Structure Stabilization and Debris Removal Project”:
