Scope:
The Board of Education of the Pomona Unified School District, Food and Nutrition Services, as lead district for the Pomona Unified Collaborative consisting of two (2) other participating school districts, is issuing a request for proposals (RFP) for:
Broadline - A. Distribution (Commodity Processed, Commercial Equivalents, Frozen, Refrigerated, Dry) B. Produce C. Paper Products
The Collaborative is seeking proposals from qualified companies to procure and deliver Commodity Processed, Commercial Equivalents, Frozen, Refrigerated, Dry, Produce, and Paper Products to receiving sites within the Member Districts. In regards to the Distribution section of the bid, the Proposer must be on the Collaborative approved Distributors list. The Proposer must also have the capability to upload usage data into K12 and Processorlink or otherwise provide an audit trail for commodity tracking. Member Districts participate in The USDA Department of Defense (“DoD”) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (“USDA DoD Fresh”), which allows schools to use USDA Foods entitlement dollars to buy fresh produce. USDA DoD Fresh operates through a partnership between the USDA and the DoD Defense Logistics Agency (“DLA”), as well as the state distributing agencies in each participating state. Produce vendors must be a participant in this program to be eligible for consideration.
