RFP-SS-2020.708 - 62ND AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS FROM PECOS ST. TO WASHINGTON ST. ENGINEERING SERVICES

The Adams County Board of Commissioners by and through its Purchasing Department is accepting proposals for Professional Engineering Services for the 62nd Avenue Improvements from Pecos Street to Washington Street (Project).

Adams County Public Works Department is requesting proposals for Professional Engineering Services for the 62nd Avenue Improvements from Pecos Street to Washington Street (Project). A project site location map is included in Appendix A.

The overall objective of this project is to improve roadway safety, system functionality, mobility, connectivity for pedestrian access facilities, drainage system; provide capacity to serve growth and economic development; improve quality of existing infrastructure; reduce long-term operation costs, reflect Transportation and Comprehensive Plan and Making Connections/SW Adams County on 62nd Avenue between Pecos Street and Washington Street.
62nd Avenue is a collector road and provides connection between Pecos Street and Washington Street with one lane in each direction.

The project includes, but not limited to, roadway widening, turning lanes; curbs, gutters, sidewalks, including ADA curb ramps and facilities; bike lanes based on the traffic study; private entrances; environmental study; utilities coordination for locating and relocating existing utilities; landscape amenities; irrigation ditch modifications; hydrology/hydraulic analysis; improvements of the storm drainage system, incorporation of water quality treatment, reset of traffic signals as needed,  any potential new signalized intersection in accordance with the traffic study and cost analysis with the County approval; pedestrian signals in accordance with the traffic and mobility study and design; research, descriptions and exhibits for right of ways and easements; and collaboration with all affected stakeholders.  

This project will initially focus on identifying distinct feasible conceptual alternatives (minimum 3 up to 5) for alignments, intersection configurations, roadway transitions, and typical sections, sidewalks, landscapes, utility relocations, bicyclist mobility with minimum impact on adjacent properties and right-of-way acquisitions. The alternatives should be prepared with presentations of affordable solutions and innovative recommendations. In addition, the alternatives shall incorporate an interactive creative component for the purpose of community engagement. Once the conceptual alternatives are developed and accepted through a collaborative process, the selected alternative will move forward to the final design process of this project.
