Summary of Specifications:
The Arapahoe Library District (ALD) is seeking competitive proposals for point to point services serving six locations in our WAN throughout Arapahoe County. We require a point to point connection from our Administration building where our servers are located to 5 of our branches with minimum speeds of 20mbps to the branches without oversubscribing the bandwidth from our Administration site. We also need this system to be able to be upgraded to higher speeds as our demands for more bandwidth grow. This may fall under the Universal Services Administrative Corporation E-rate eligible guidelines.
Our current WAN is configured as follows: 100Mb Metro-Ethernet connection from main server (Admin), with 20MB Metro-Ethernet connection to our five access points (Castlewood, Koelbel, Smoky Hill, Southglenn and May). Cisco switches are provided by Century Link and we plug our Cisco 2800 series routers into them via Ethernet port.
ALD provides two separate bandwidths for connectivity. One connection is established for our administrative purposes and the other is dedicated to patron usage. The network and hardware needs to be functioning 24 hour a day. We have library branches that are open 12 hours a day and use the connections afterhours to perform software updates.
We are seeking a one year contract beginning July 1, 2012. The Arapahoe Library District has reason to believe that sufficient funds will be available for the full term of the contract. However, financial obligations of ALD payable after the current fiscal year are contingent upon funds for this purpose being appropriated, budgeted, and otherwise made available. In the event that funds are not appropriated, ALD will notify the vendor and the contract will be terminated without penalty on the last day of ALD’s current fiscal year.
