P1002541/55P21 - Critical Campus Wide HVAC Infrastructure Replacement

The Auraria Campus has been approved $20,563,100 of capital renewal funding for fiscal year 2021/2022 to replace Critical Campus Wide Building HVAC infrastructure. Current equipment has reached their useful life and replacement components are obsolete. The HVAC systems are problematic from a design approach, building and space use, and do not comply with the current energy efficiency codes. This project will replace HVAC systems in nine (9) campus shared buildings: Bear Creek (BRC), Boulder Creek (BLD), Central Classroom (CN), Cherry Creek (CHR), Facilities Annex (FA), North Chiller Plant (NCP), Physical Education and Event Center (PE/EC), Plaza (PL), and West Classroom (WC).

The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is seeking a team with an engineering firm as lead, and includes an architect, to complete a design for replacement of critical campus wide building HVAC infrastructure in over 1,250,000 square feet of space that includes classrooms, labs and office building spaces shared by the three institutions: Community College of Denver (CCD), Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) and University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) located at the Auraria Campus. The selected project team will be asked to deliver the overall project design within 6 months of award.
