William Smith High School, and potentially other schools, is currently seeking vendors to support all high school students to access Tier I and II supports due to being at risk for drop out, disengagement from school, and anxiety as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically in regard to financial insecurities and lack of post-secondary planning due to inconsistency and removal from the school setting over the last 2 years. William Smith is seeking vendors that provide ongoing support to students that is evidence based, grounded in research, and aligned with the goals and objectives of William Smith. Vendors must be able to work within the school building and both within the school day and after school and:
- Provide financial planning and financial literacy instruction for approximately 25 11th grade students and 25 9th grade students on a daily basis for 2nd semester to assist in post-secondary planning and provide resources. Instruction should include, but is not limited to: personal budgeting, student loans, planning for college, credit cards, and personal loans.
- Provide an afterschool opportunity for approximately 10 – 15 students interested in pursuing careers in the finance industry as well as personal and engaging topics like cryptocurrency and investing.
- Provide evening and online courses for families on topics such as getting out of debt, paying for your student’s college, understanding student loans, etc. Modules should be designed for synchronous and asynchronous access and in multiple languages.
- Provide field work and guest experts for students to experience hands on learning, in accordance with our EL Education model, that is highly engaging and well attended.
