RFP-6490-16 - Animal Sheltering

Summary of Specifications:
The sheriff’s office, through the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), coordinates animal relief efforts in emergencies and natural disasters in partnership with animal shelters. The animal shelter assists members of the public needing animal-related services. This assistance may include, but is not limited to: housing animals; providing emergency veterinary medical care; setting up and managing animal shelter sites; evacuating, rescuing, and capturing animals in distress; caring and feeding for animals left in evacuation sites; providing lost and found information services to the public; euthanizing animals; and providing animal food and supplies to the public. 

An award and contract resulting from this RFP is not a guarantee of work. Boulder County reserves the right to award multiple shelters within the county in order to best serve the county’s needs. 

Specifications and a sample contract with a FEMA specific addendum are attached. The successful proposer shall execute the attached addendum as part of any contract with the county, and comply with all FEMA requirements set forth in that addendum.
