Summary of Specifications:
The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is seeking design-build (DB) proposals from qualified vendors for a replacement well at the James F. Bailey Assay Office Museum (Assay Office) located west of Boulder, Colorado. The museum well was damaged by high water on Fourmile Creek during the September 2013 flood event. BCPOS is asking vendors to: evaluate the existing pump and water line, identify the location and intended construction for a replacement well, process and secure all necessary permits, and construct the replacement well and connection to the Assay Office.
The original well was constructed prior to 1972 at a location south of Fourmile Canyon Drive near Fourmile Creek and has no permit record with the state. BCPOS is interested in a replacement well located closer to the museum and, to the extent possible, further from the creek (see Site Plan exhibit in Specifications). The Assay Office is a seasonal museum and is designated a Boulder County local historic landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic character of the property cannot be permanently altered by the replacement well.
The scope of work is design-build. The selected vendor shall provide design, permitting and construction services that shall meet or exceed all applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations governing the design and construction of replacement wells.
The successful proposer shall execute the attached addendum as part of any contract with the county, and comply with all FEMA requirements set forth in that addendum. Specifications and a sample contract with a FEMA specific addendum are attached.
