Summary of Specifications:
The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is seeking proposals from Contractors to provide Exhibit Design and Fabrication Services for one exhibit at the Agricultural Heritage Center in the Stroh/Dickens Barn at the Lohr/McIntosh Farm (AHC) located at 8348 Ute Hwy, Longmont, CO 80503. The Exhibit Design and Fabrication Services consist of three major components:
1. Defining the Interpretive Theme and Subthemes 2. Exhibit Schematic Design 3. Exhibit Fabrication
Original exhibits for the Stroh/Dickens Barn were designed, fabricated and installed in 2002 by Condit Exhibits of Denver, Colorado. (See Appendix A for photos) One of these exhibits will be removed and replaced with a new exhibit with a different interpretive theme and subthemes. The other exhibits in the Stroh/Dickens Barn will remain. The style and materials used in the new exhibit should take other exhibits’ into consideration in the design and fabrication.
The selected contractor will be required to enter into a contract for services with Boulder County and meet the insurance requirements as described in the attached sample contract.
Contractors are encouraged to visit the Agricultural Heritage Center to view the current exhibits in the Stroh/Dickens Barn prior to submitting a proposal. The site is open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Directions to the site may be obtained by calling 303-776-8688.
Submittals are due in the Purchasing Office or the email box (preferred) listed below, for time and date recording on or before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012.
