RFP-6135-14 - Flood - Boulder Canyon Trail Concrete Repair

Summary of Specifications:
The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to replace damaged concrete trail sections along the Boulder Canyon Trail just west of Boulder, Colorado. The damaged trail sections are located on a stretch of the Boulder Canyon Trail that directly adjoins the southern shoulder of State Highway 119 from the intersection of Cañon Park Drive and extending west approximately 0.5 miles. The 10 foot wide multi-use trail is separated from the highway in this area by jersey barriers or guard rail, which limit construction access to the trail itself. The project includes five separate repair sites typically requiring demolition and removal of damaged concrete trail and minor forming and pouring of replacement concrete. One site will require additional work including the construction of a small boulder headwall, trail embankment repair, and installation of post and dowel fencing at an existing culvert. The Boulder Canyon Trail is a highly popular multi-use trail that sees significant pedestrian traffic on a daily basis. In order to minimize the loss of access to the recreational amenity during the construction process, BCPOS is seeking qualified vendors who will complete the project under a condensed construction schedule and limit the need for trail closures.
