RFP-6251-15 - Flood Consulting/Engineerings Services - Walden Ponds Breach Rehab

Summary of Specifications:
Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS or Boulder County) is accepting proposals from qualified and experienced firms to secure engineering services for the rehabilitation of two pond berm breaches on the existing gravel pit reservoirs at Walden Ponds Open Space. Walden Ponds recreation area is located at 75th Street immediately South of Boulder Creek in unincorporated Boulder County, Colorado. The multiple pond systems were created as reclamation of depressions that resulted from construction materials mining and now exist as open space reservoirs. Engineering services are needed to repair two breaches that occurred between three gravel pond reservoirs and the two separating berms that were washed out during the flood of September, 2013. 

The selected engineering firm will have 60 calendar days to complete evaluation and preliminary design of the rehabilitation of these two breached berm locations and 30 calendar days for an immediately following second phase to prepare final design, and construction documents. 

A third phase of the project will be to provide engineering services during the construction.
