Summary of Specifications:
Family-centered practice with the families of children with complex developmental and medical needs reduces the risk of child abuse and neglect resulting from the stress of caregiving. Families caring for children with disabilities and chronic medical conditions occasionally may feel isolated, physically tired, financially burdened, and frustrated by the lack of free time or time to spend with other children. Intensive services that are provided in the home and including the whole family are essential to address risk and safety factors that often times results in a youth or child being removed from their home.
