Summary of Specifications:
Boulder County, Colorado, anticipates, soon to be released, two solicitations for a bridge prefabrication solicitation and a bridge and roadway construction solicitation. Bridge Prefabrication Solicitation Boulder County, Colorado intends to soon advertise the pre-fabrication portion for the East County Line Road/Weld County Road #1 (ECLR/WCR #1) Bridge over the St. Vrain River. The proposed bridge will be 270’ long (3-90’ spans). This bridge has been designed using accelerated bridge construction (ABC) methods. Work for this project (pre-fabrication portion) includes the fabrication of bridge pre-cast items including: 1) abutments, 2) pier caps, 3) wingwalls, 4) approach slabs, 5) sleeper slabs, and 6) prestressed concrete box Girders (depth 35”). Time will be of the essence on this project, with the pre-fabricated members needing to be delivered starting in early August 2014. Bridge and Roadway Replacement Solicitation Boulder County, Colorado also intends to advertise for the bridge erection and roadway construction for the East County Line Road/Weld County Road #1 (ECLR/WCR #1) Bridge over the St. Vrain River shortly following the solicitation of the Bridge Prefabrication. Work for this project may include, but is not limited to bridge construction (using the pre-cast elements), approximately 1250’ of roadway construction, storm sewer replacement, general grading, creek channel grading, and riprap installation. Time will be of the essence on this project, with construction starting early August 2014 and ending in late October due to a historically active eagle nest within the project buffer zone. Additional Requirements Bidders who wish to bid on either of these two solicitations must be pre-qualified by CDOT with experience in fabrication and constructing bridge members and/ or projects. Bidders who wish to become prequalified must file a Contractor Prequalification Statement (Form #66) with the Colorado Department of Transportation, Contracts and Market Analysis Prequalification Unit, at least 17 calendars days before a contractor can bid on a project.
