Double Up Food Bucks is a national model that provides incentives for customers using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP EBT, formerly known as food stamps) to encourage them to purchase more fresh fruits and vegetables. When a customer shops at a participating location, the amount of SNAP benefits they spend on fruits and vegetables is matched with Double Up Food Buck, which are valid for the purchase of additional fresh fruits and vegetables. SNAP beneficiaries can receive up to $20 in Double Up Food Bucks each time they shop at a participating retailor. Boulder County Public Health is seeking a retail setting to pilot a Double Up Food Bucks program in 2018 with at least $25,000 in incentives available.
