Boulder County is soliciting qualifications for consultant services for design of six quiet zones at railroad crossings along the State Highway 119 (SH119) corridor in unincorporated Boulder County. A study of the crossings and the required supplemental safety measures (SSMs) for the creation of quiet zones has been conducted and provides guidelines for some of the designs being sought. Competitive consultant teams providing qualifications for this project should have a strong familiarity with FRA quiet zone rules and guidelines and have past experience designing quiet zones.
