RFP-6239-15 - SOUND MASKING (ST. VRAIN)

Summary of Specifications:
Boulder County is requesting proposals for sound masking technologies to be installed at the St. Vrain office location, currently being developed in Longmont. The design of this new building will incorporate many ‘Open Office’ concepts including: expansive use of open cubicles and potential drop-in or desk sharing for staff; elimination of private offices in lieu of accessible ‘focus rooms’ where head’s down work or small one on one meetings can occur in private; use of open collaboration spaces within the work area for informal or impromptu meetings. 

Additionally, the center core of the building on all three floors will be oriented towards public service portals and meeting rooms. The nature of the work for the staff in this building commonly involves dealing with highly sensitive or confidential information. To create an open office environment that is both welcoming and inviting, while also not distracting to staff or one which violates confidentiality we are pursuing sound mitigation strategies. These strategies could include acoustical baffling or sound deadening materials, or the implementation of sound masking, low voltage audio technologies deployed strategically throughout the space.
