Summary of Specifications:
Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is accepting proposals from qualified and experienced firms to secure engineering services for the Swede Dam and Reservoir Rehabilitation (Project). Rehabilitation of this dam and reservoir to restore it to a condition which enables it to store its decreed water rights is the current preferred option for providing agricultural irrigation water to the BCPOS AHI property immediately adjacent to the reservoir. The items of rehabilitation are directly related to a long history of dam and reservoir use in combination with a lack of significant maintenance. The dam has a number of identified deficiencies that require repair before the dam and reservoir is returned to service. The dam is a jurisdictional structure and its repair shall be in compliance with the State of Colorado, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water Resources, Office of the State Engineer, Dam Safety Branch (SEO) “Rules and Regulations for Dam Safety and Dam Construction“ and other applicable standards. This project is not a FEMA flood recovery funded project. The selected engineering firm (contractor) will have one hundred twenty (120) calendar days to complete the first phase of the Project which consists of completing remaining evaluations, final design and construction documents of the rehabilitation from the date of the written notice to proceed. The second phase of the Project, which will be immediately following the first phase of the Project, will be to provide engineering services during the construction of the Project.
