6722-17 - Trail Bridge Concrete Approach Repairs

The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is seeking bids from qualified vendors to replace damaged trail bridge approaches along the Boulder Canyon and Dry Creek Trails. The damaged trail approach of the Boulder Canyon Trail is located 240 feet east at the first eastern pull out, approximately 1.4 miles west of the intersection of 6Th Street and Canyon Boulevard in Boulder. The Dry Creek Trail bridge approach is located on the Lefthand Valley Grange Open Space property at 7075 83rd Street in Niwot. The bridge is approximately 200 yards southwest of the parking lot.
 
The project includes four (4) bridge approach repairs. Tasks include demolition and removal of damaged concrete and crusher fine trail approaches, and back walls of the Dry Creek Trail bridge abutments. Other tasks include forming and pouring of replacement concrete approaches and back walls at the Niwot location only.
 
The Niwot and Boulder Canyon Trails are highly popular multi-use trails that have significant
pedestrian/bicycle traffic on a daily basis. In order to minimize the loss of access to the recreational
amenity during the construction process, BCPOS is seeking qualified vendors who will complete the
project under a condensed construction schedule and limit the need for trail closures, or closing portions of the trail to allow for access during all phases of construction. The successful bidder will have two (2) business weeks, weather permitting, to complete each project.
