Summary of Specifications:
BACKGROUND FOR PROJECT: Boulder County strives to be the best stewards of public land, in keeping with that standard the Parks and Open Space Department is interested in identifying wood working companies who are able to repurpose felled wood from our publicly owned properties. Boulder County is soliciting companies that are capable of loading, hauling, and reusing large hardwood logs that are greater than 12” in diameter and over 4’ in length. The hardwood logs come from felled trees such as Walnut, Elm, Ash, and other species throughout Boulder County.
Contractors must be capable of loading and hauling the logs from the designated site within 48 hours of notification from the County, with the understanding that the County will not pay for the collection or transportation of the felled wood.
The County will clearly identify the location and species of wood that is to be collected and will require that the wood be loaded and hauled between sunrise and sunset. In return for collecting and transporting the large diameter hardwood logs, the selected company will be able to use the high-value hardwood as necessary to their needs.
A Pre-Bid meeting is NOT scheduled for this solicitation.
The selected contractor(s) will be required to enter into a Continuing Services Contract, for the current year with an option to renew, in writing, for four (4) additional years. The Contractor acknowledges that a Contract does not constitute a guarantee that Contractor will receive any Projects or Work of any kind under this Contract, if selected, and in such event, Contractor would not receive any payment from County.
Note that the above insurance amounts are the minimum required for this project. Proof of current insurance must be provided with your proposal in the form of a sample certificate; bids will not be awarded to vendors/contractors that do not meet the minimum insurance requirements for this project.
