The Cañon City Area Metropolitan Recreation and Park District, referred to as “District,” is requesting proposals to design, order, deliver, and install dog park agility equipment for the Arkansas Riverwalk Dog Park. The District will select one (1) “Supplier” to provide equipment, materials, and installation for the agility equipment as outlined in this request.
SCOPE OF PROJECT
This project consists of the design, procurement, shipment, and installation of dog park agility equipment at the Arkansas Riverwalk Dog Park, adjacent to the District offices at 575 Ash Street, Cañon City, Colorado. The equipment should be made of materials that have a long-life expectancy, scratch resistant, easy graffiti removal, and can manage the wear and tear of both canines and humans. Wooden equipment will not be accepted. The work is to include the design of the dog park agility equipment for both the large dog park and small dog park as shown on the map.
The proposals shall include the costs of delivered equipment, components, hardware, type of proposed materials, cost of installation, maintenance & operations manuals from manufacturers, and estimated timetable for delivery and installation.
SITE PREPARATION
The District will make sure the site area is prepped in advance of equipment delivery. The District will have a local concrete company, Fremont Paving and Redi-Mix, supply concrete for installation.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Arkansas Riverwalk Dog Park was opened to the community in 2011. It is in a natural setting with no access to water and is three (3) acres in size. The soil and grass are all native. There is a walking track around the perimeter of the park, a small pavilion, a few benches, and a small agility course made of wooden structures. The goal is to add a small dog park section, with a separate entrance, modify the walking track, add signage, benches, and tables, and replace the existing agility equipment. We will also add some agility equipment to the proposed small dog park section. The agility equipment should be constructed of materials that extend the life of the product and reduce the need for regular maintenance. They need to be playground quality equipment.
DOG PARK AGILITY EQUIPMENT
1. There are two sections of the park; large and small as shown on the map. Each requires equipment.
2. There should be at least seven to nine items in the large section and four in the small section.
3. Please list equipment for each section separately.
4. Details of the materials used for the equipment must be provided. No wooden structures will be accepted.
5. The Supplier must install all equipment, but the District will supply concrete from a local vendor.
6. Equipment, Engineering, Freight, and Installation of equipment must be itemized.
7. The District reserves the right to negotiate changes to the proposal with the selected Supplier to meet the needs of the community.
In the proposal, provide a list of the components proposed for each section. Include model numbers, materials, color choices and recommendations, estimated lifetime of equipment including manufacturer’s warranty and any other relevant descriptive information. All designs shall safely fit in the area as shown on the site map (Exhibit A).
ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION
The assembly and installation will be provided and managed by the Supplier. The Supplier must supply direct supervision from manufacturer or supply qualified and certified representative familiar with equipment installation. All tools and equipment required to install equipment shall be provided by the Supplier. All work must be completed by March 14, 2025. A timeline will be discussed once a Supplier is selected. Working days will begin as outlined in the Notice to Proceed.
A qualified representative of the Supplier is required to conduct a post installation inspection of equipment upon completion to insure the proper installation. If not properly installed, corrections must be submitted in writing to the District and remedied immediately. Co‐inspection with the Supplier's representative of assembly and installation work will be conducted by the District following installation. The District will supply the punch list for final completion generated by this co‐inspection. The Supplier shall submit to the District the manufacturer's certification of compliance and warranty following punch list completion.
Warranty: Upon completion of installation, the Supplier must provide documentation attesting the equipment has been installed meeting all specifications thereby warranted by manufacturer. Additionally, it is the Supplier's responsibility to provide to the District the manufacturer's warranty of installed equipment.
BUDGET
The target budget for this portion of the project is between $35,000 - $39,700. The District will remove the existing equipment and have the area prepped in advance. Based on the pricing from the proposals received, the District reserves the right to adjust the scope of the project.
COMPLIANCE
The Supplier must provide an original Certificate of Product Liability Insurance with the District named as certificate holder for a minimum of $2,000,000 coverage.
SITE VISIT
There is no mandatory site visit. You are welcome to visit the dog park, and we will happily tour the area with you. We are also happy to answer any questions you might have about the site via phone or video conference.
