Showcase A mandatory project showcase will be held on October 5, 2021 We will meet at 9:00am at the CSFS Salida Field Office: 7980 W. HWY 50, Salida CO 81201. Contractor will have to be present in order to submit a bid package.
Project Locations The project locations to be completed associated with this Scope of Work are the Farrow Ranch and a section of property owned by the City of Salida. These properties are adjacent to one another just south of Poncha Springs, Colorado. To access the Farrow Ranch, from the US HWY 285/US HWY 50 intersection in Poncha Springs travel south along US HWY 285 for .25 miles and veer left onto CR 115 (Hot Springs Rd). Travel south for 500’ and turn left onto Pinyon Ln. Travel east for 300’ and arrive. There is a secondary access to the Farrow Ranch via the power line road that will serve as an option for getting equipment onto the project site that is indicated on the attached map and will be discussed at the showcase trip. To access the City of Salida units, follow the same directions from the US 285/US 50 intersection Units 3-11 are located on City of Salida property. The major forest type within these units is dense pinon juniper. Unit 3 includes the same cottonwood stand as described above. Units 3 & 4 were thinned in spring of 2021, but will require a second entry to achieve the prescription to follow. The remaining units all share similar qualities of small acreage and dense pino juniper stands. Temporary road control measures may be required to complete Units 2, 3, & 5, but all other units lie along gated access points closed to the public. Unit oundaries are marked with orange flagging aside from where the units run into the power line where the boundary is obvious.
