Summary of Specifications:
The intent of this Request for Information is to solicit solutions from potential radio vendors to determine the best qualified products for our migration to a stand alone P25 digital radio system and P25 dispatch consoles. The proposed P25 radio system will be used for critical public safety communications as well as public works departments within each city. This determination will be based on synergistic solutions, quality, value, expandability, reliability, interoperability, true P25 open architecture, as well as other pertinent factors. It is also the intent of this RFI to gather ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) pricing and financing options from each radio vendor to assist in budgetary planning. ROM pricing for dispatch consoles should be separate from system infrastructure pricing. Subscriber radio equipment will not be included in this RFI; each city will address subscriber replacement and/or upgrades on an independent basis. Once all vendor information has been collected and evaluated there will be an RFP (Request for Proposal) submitted by the cities that will target qualified vendors and their respective P25 solutions and products.
