Summary of Specifications:
Plant materials for the City of Aspen Parks Department. Plant Material Specifications: 1. All plant/seed materials will be first class representatives of their respective species in respects to growth, form, and all other species characteristics. All trees will conform to the American Nursery Association and Colorado Nursery Association guidelines for balled and burlapped and container grown nursery stock. 2. Trees will be well established in appropriate sized containers/basket. Trees must have been grown in the container or basket for at least one year to ensure proper root development within the container/basket. 3. Trees will be of at least the minimum caliper size requested within these bid specifications. 4. Plant materials will be free of any insect or disease infestations or outbreaks. 5. The City of Aspen reserves the right to inspect all stock before award of this bid. 6. Plant materials will be delivered to the City of Aspen on a predetermined date determined after the bid award. Details of delivery location and time will be worked out after the bid award. Proper care will be taken to protect the plant covering all material with at least two (2) layers of wind screening, maintaining proper moisture content within the ball and protecting stems from mechanical damage. The City of Aspen reserves the right to reject any plant materials damaged during the delivery process. 7. Substitutes will be considered and must be clearly labeled as substitutes on the bid form.
