ITB-2013-105 - Sludge Removal from City of Aspen Water Treatment Plant Backwash I

Summary of Specifications:
The City of Aspen Water department seeks qualified bids for services to remove/dewater approximately 500 cubic yards of sludge from the City of Aspen’s Water Treatment Plant backwash impound pond. Services include sludge sampling that meets Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements including obtaining permits and/or all necessary approvals prior to removal. 

Service includes disposal at appropriate disposal site, Pitkin County Landfill. The landfill requires sampling of the sludge because it contains coagulants used in the filtration process. Results must be reviewed and approved by the State of Colorado. A letter from the State of Colorado stating that the sludge material poses little or extraordinary risk will be required by the Pitkin County Landfill. 

De-watering on site is required. 

Sludge removal start work shall begin October 1, 2013 and must be completed by October 11, 2013.
