2017-010 - Underwriting Services

The City of Aspen is seeking proposals from qualified and interested underwriting firms. The City is in financing the construction of a new Police Building through a lease purchase agreement financing and the issuance of Certificates of Participation (“COPS”).
 
The City of Aspen is an internationally recognized resort community in the Rocky Mountains. It has a year round population of approximately 6,500 residents and a $90 million budget. The City’s current Bond rating for General Obligation debt is Aa1 from Moody’s and AA+ from Standard and Poor’s. The City has a professional Finance staff well versed in debt markets and tax-exempt financial instruments.
