2021-250 - Utility Billing Software

Utilities is seeking to replace its current water and electric utility billing software, Munis Classic, by Tyler Technologies, version 11.3.24.  The City has utilized Tyler Munis for water and electric utility billing since April 2003 and is now interested in proposals for new utility billing software that will take advantage of the advances—in processes, integration, and automation—that have become available since the organization went live with Munis 18 years ago. 

By moving to a new billing system, the various City of Aspen user groups hope to reduce the amount of time it takes to look up account information and perform database updates, as well as manage daily and monthly billing.  Additional objectives include:
1.  Reduce billing errors
2.  Reduce staff time required for navigating information and operations
3.  Provide an easy and intuitive platform to manage multiple functions across diverse demands of utilities (water and electric) accounts
4.  Assure that office staff have immediate access to all the information they need, 24/7
