Work performed under this contract entails the selected contractor to furnish and install curb ramps, curb extensions, and pedestrian median refuge islands at several locations throughout the City, per approved civil plans developed by Public Works. The warranted locations were identified by applications received as part of the City of Aurora Traffic Calming Program, as well as by other resident requests and vetted by Public Works staff for warranting and prioritization of pedestrian crossing enhancements.

The new sidewalks will be constructed according to the City of Aurora’s current standards, to the extent where practicable, where applicable, landscaped separation between sidewalks and roads, and appropriate cross slopes for drainage. Associated ADA ramps will also be constructed.

Additional Bidding Instructions

Each bid response shall be submitted on the prescribed forms supplied in the Project Manual.

Each Bid shall be accompanied by an appropriate guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond, payable to the City of Aurora in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. Original bid bond does not have to be delivered to the City; however, each bidder should maintain the original on file should the City request it at a later time.

Bids shall be submitted electronically, preferably in a single file PDF format, through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (BidNet). Bids received using another method such as mail, email, or hand delivery will not be accepted. Late bids will NOT be accepted. Bids shall be retained by the City and cannot be returned.
