Aurora’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Library and Municipal Service Center is located at 9898 E. Colfax Ave. in what is commonly referred to as “Original Aurora” or “North Aurora”. The Michael Brendle designed building was opened in April 2005 with a branch library (Martin Luther King Jr Library), meeting spaces, and small café occupying most of the first floor and other city offices on the second floor. The first floor café and the second floor offices are now largely unoccupied and the city wishes to remodel the spaces for library programming.

Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) shall be submitted electronically through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (BidNet) no later than 10:00 AM, mountain time, October 8, 2024. File size limit is 25 MB. SOQs MUST be submitted through BidNet to be considered responsive. SOQs received using another method such as mail, email, or hand delivery will not be accepted. The SOQs shall be retained by the City and cannot be returned. THIS SOLICITATION IS ISSUED FOR THE PURPOSE OF:
Selecting qualified General/Prime Contractors to bid the MLK Library CPF Grant Remodel Project.

Note: Contractors intending on serving as subcontractors (unless noted otherwise herein), or material suppliers should not submit Statements of Qualifications for this Pre-invitation/Statement of Qualification process. This process is designed to pre-qualify prime contractors only. When the bid for the construction project is solicited, only those qualified prime/general contractors selected from this process will be solicited and allowed to participate. However, any potential subcontractors and material suppliers shall be given full opportunity at that time to review, and/or purchase the project manual as they deem appropriate.
