The Guaranteed Income Pilot project is a program in which funds from the city’s ARPA allocation, and potentially from other investment agencies, will be transferred to selected, eligible low-income community members on a monthly basis for 24 months, to support economic mobility and resilience and other positive outcomes. The purpose of the project is to address affordability challenges and associated socio-economic and overall wellbeing disparities experienced by low-income city residents. The city anticipates distributing up to $2.4 million in monthly cash transfers in 2023-25 to 200 residents.
