This project, entitled “CFRT (Colorado Front Range Trail) – E-470 to Ken Mitchell Park”, is the construction of a trail within City of Brighton, private land with trail easement, and Adams County properties that Brighton owns or has easement agreements for the trail. The approximate 2.91-mile long trail to be constructed will be a 10-feet wide, 6-inch or 4-inch depth (depending on location), fiber-mesh filled, saw-cut every 10-feet concrete trail placed on a minimum of 95% compacted base material. The trail will have a 1% drain to one side of the trail and will meet all ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines with respect to percent of slope. This trail project connects on the south to the present trail at E-470 and travels adjacent to the South Platte River and through Ken Mitchell Open Space until it connects to the present trail in Ken Mitchell Park. Additionally, there is a trail at the approximate midpoint that travels east between two lakes to a point on the Aichelman Property that the City owns.
