RFP-09-048 - Credit/Debit Card Processing Services

Summary of Specifications:
The City of Brighton is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors authorized to do business in the State of Colorado to provide credit and debit card processing services. The City of Brighton has accepted MasterCard and VISA credit and debit cards as a form of payment for the past 10+ years. Payment can either be made over-the-counter, or via telephone calls. The City has accepted MasterCard and VISA credit and debit cards to make on-line payment of utility (water and sewer) bills since 2005. The City does not accept Discover and American Express because of the higher fees charged. The City also accepts E-checks online and uses ACH for payment deductions from the bank accounts, however, these forms of payment are handled through another processing company and will not be considered with this RFP. The City plans on upgrading our existing phone system to integrate with an Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system in the near future. This RFP is being solicited in order to evaluate other company’s credit and debit card processing services as well as obtain the lowest processing fees possible.
